Jacob and Shiloh | Proposal at Onomea Bay During Sunrise
We wrapped our 2019 with one final proposal setup on Hawaiʻi Island (the Big Island). As much as we love Honolulu and all that Oʻahu has to offer, traveling to the other islands in Hawaiʻi does open our eyes to all of the beauty Hawaiʻi has to offer. Jacob reached out to us to set up his dream proposal - on the beach in front of a waterfall. Lucky for him, Hawaiʻi Island has a lot of waterfalls to offer. So we decided to set up everything at Onomea Bay, near the waterfall up stream. The area is stunning, sitting along the scenic Old Mamalahoe Highway. The hike down was a simple 1 mile hike from the road to the water. Everything lined up for a perfect proposal - except for the weather.
As we were flying over from Honolulu that morning, Hilo was covered in heavy clouds from a rainstorm the night before. We were a little hesitant to set up everything and had planned for an alternate site along the water if the streamflow was too heavy. I have to admit that the waterfall setup would have been epic, however their sunrise, ocean-side proposal was nothing short of spectacular. Check out the photos and video for yourself.
