Bennett Family Portrait in Ko Olina

The Bennett Family had an amazing opportunity for a family vacation in Hawaiʻi as a part of their son’s wish with The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Their trip included activities and adventures that took them around the island, however one of their more important moments came during our family portrait session.

Marstaller Family Portrait in Waʻahila Ridge

It’s that time of the year. Time for family Christmas photos. With an abundance of beaches and tropical settings for photos, we wanted to get away from the Hawaiian norm and have these photos taken in a more woodland setting. After a quick drive up the mountains, we set up in a forest of Cook Pine Trees for these Christmas photos.

70th Birthday Party On Top of Waikiki

Altitude 37 at Hilton Waikīkī Beach, Waikīkī

Family from around the world flew in to celebrate Micky’s 70th birthday. Micky’s daughter, Preet, had arranged for their festivities to take place on the top of Waikīkī in the Altitude 37 lounge at Hilton Waikīkī Beach Hotel. The venue was perfect for their party. The lounge was small enough for their intimate party with enough space for the dancing and singing that would take place at the end of the night. And that view - the sun setting over the Waikīkī skyline. This family knows how to party and we had a great time celebrating with everyone. Congratulations Micky on your 70th birthday. We wish you many more years of happiness, singing, and dancing.

Kimura Family Vacation Portraits at Waiʻalae Beach Park

Waiʻalae Beach Park, Waiʻalae

How cute is this family? These two little girls were adorable and had so much fun at the beach. Maybe a little too much fun. Little ones can be tricky to photograph, as any parent can attest to. My secret - just have fun. When everyone is laughing and having a good time, we can throw out the “cheese” because we all have our natural beautiful smiles on. And if you dress up your daughters in cute clothes like this, then our photos will turn out even better!

Liven Up Your After Party With Late-Night Snacks

Just when your guests think the fun is winding down, liven up the reception party with late-night snacks. Don't leave your wedding guests searching for a place to get that late-night bite to eat. Hotdogs and crinkle-cut fries or cookies and milk may not speak high-class wedding food, but they are great for late-night munchies. Food trucks are also great options for outdoor weddings with endless options for small bites to eat - Korean BBQ, street tacos, or even waffles and ice cream.

Arranging Your Wedding Party During The Ceremony

Remember that photos during your ceremony are going to be shared all over social media and may be the ones you cherish forever. Before they walk down the aisle, show bridesmaids where to hold their bouquets so that some don't hold it up too high or down too low. A good rule of thumb - bouquets held at the navel. Also show the men how they’ll position their hands during the ceremony and ensure that everyone lines up in a neat and formed line. Attention to these details can help to create gorgeous images of your wedding ceremony.

Wedding Day Bridal Portraits

Thinking about taking some bridal party shots before your ceremony? Or should you wait till after the ceremony for the majority of your wedding portraits. Consider that your hair and makeup will look ultra-fresh if you take photos right away, rather than getting windblown or droopy from the heat. A non-traditional first look before your ceremony can give you some extra time to have your wedding portraits taken.

Fall Mini Sessions

It’s that time of the year again, when Christmas trees start popping before you ever started thinking about your Thanksgiving Dinner meal plans. I love this time of the year, especially as the weather here in Hawaiʻi starts to shift from hot and humid to cool and breezy. But it is also the time for Fall Mini Portrait Sessions. Whether it’s for updating your annual family photos or for sending out your Christmas cards it’s that time to start thinking about family photo sessions.

I’m am continuing to take a limited number of full Family Portrait Sessions, but I have set aside a few days for mini-sessions at a few of my most popular locations. These sessions usually book out quickly, so I recommend scheduling your family session so that we can have your Christmas cards ready in time to get them out after Thanksgiving.

Session dates are listed below. Click on the link for more information on sessions, available times, and details on how to book your session.
