Sayge and Kai decided to have their wedding vows at Central Union Church, an iconic church in Honolulu with grand Colonial-revival sanctuary and high-reaching steeple. But for an added casual touch, the two held their ceremony just outside of the Atherton Chapel in the lawn under the grand Monkeypod Tree. The lawn was the perfect place for an afternoon wedding ceremony, with the cool Mānoa tradewinds blowing in the shade of the tree.Read More
We started out the evening with some family photos on the beach. The typical “we are on a vacation in Hawaiʻi” photos. And while we were all set up for photos, we decided for a quick wardrobe change and switched into engagement photo gear. I think the timing of the evening was perfect as the setting sun gave us some great colors and light to work with.Read More
Eunice decided to surprise her in-laws with a great Christmas present on their first vacation to Hawaiʻi. Sunrise in Waikīkī was an obvious choice, and we were able to split our time between the beach and Kapiʻolani Park.Read More

Altitude 37 at Hilton Waikīkī Beach, Waikīkī
Family from around the world flew in to celebrate Micky’s 70th birthday. Micky’s daughter, Preet, had arranged for their festivities to take place on the top of Waikīkī in the Altitude 37 lounge at Hilton Waikīkī Beach Hotel. The venue was perfect for their party. The lounge was small enough for their intimate party with enough space for the dancing and singing that would take place at the end of the night. And that view - the sun setting over the Waikīkī skyline. This family knows how to party and we had a great time celebrating with everyone. Congratulations Micky on your 70th birthday. We wish you many more years of happiness, singing, and dancing.
The iconic Rainbow Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village was the perfect place to have their wedding vows and a great way to celebrate their love for each other.Read More

Honeymoon + sunset + white sandy beach = perfect opportunity for romantic photographs.
Rock and Lia were here in Hawaiʻi on their honeymoon and I was over excited to photograph this beautiful couple. The two were so in love and a lot of fun to work with. We made our way down the beach and finished up our photo session at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor just in time for the sunset. I am often hesitant to walk across the jetty at the harbor during photo sessions because it isn't the easiest to walk over. But when I asked Lia if she was up for the challenge, she immediately looked at me with an affirmative look and said that she was an island-girl - of course. I love couples like them, so easy to work with, and so much fun to spend time with.
Maternity photo sessions are a lot of fun, especially when the couple brings along cute little baby items as props for their photos. Tiny little slippers, tiny little hats. It's just exciting knowing that in a few months there will be a little human adding to their family.Read More
Kapiʻolani Park, Waikīkī
I have to admit that I have a few favorite outdoor locations for photo sessions. At the top of the list is Kapiʻolani Park in Waikiki, specifically the Dillingham Fountain on the Diamond Head side of the park. The iconic water fountain is beautiful and the surrounding area has these gorgeous trees. My favorite wind-swept tree arches across a lone bench creating both a romantic and almost magical space. Check out these past photo sessions for shots with this tree (Hong & Warnock, Silva).
This was the reason we had set Kapiʻolani Park as the location for our family friends, the Demands. However upon arrival to the photo session, we had noticed that the entire tree had been cut down, leaving behind two stone pillars (which were built to support the "falling" tree). Let's just say that we made the best of it and ended on the Waikiki end of the park feeding ducks. The photos turned out great and everyone was happy, but a part of me inside still mourns for this lost tree.
I hope you enjoy these photos, and if you are still looking to get your family photos taken, let's connect. Tis the season for family photos.
This shoot was especially exciting to work on, not only because the couple was so much fun to be with, but because it was the first time that we collaborated with Reveal Hair and Makeup.Read More
We decided to get some family photos at the beautiful Kapiʻolani Park in Waikīkī. The gorgeous trees and Dillingham Fountain made for a fun and playful location for the little ones. Photographing little ones can be a challenge at times, but when we can have fun, I think it is the most enjoyable part of being a photographer.Read More

Star Wars Themed Garden Wedding
This might have been the first time I've ever applied a "light-saber" effect to a photo. I'm not going to lie - it was pretty fun. I wouldn't consider myself to be the biggest Star Wars fan, but given a chance to be a part of a Star Wars themed wedding was kind of exciting. The slight Star Wars details made this the perfect garden wedding between Cheryl and Kip.

Sunset at Waikīkī
And now for the big day. Walking through this season with this beautiful couple was such a special experience. Being there for them during their engagement. Retelling their love story. And now capturing their nuptials.
Congratulations Loriann and Shannon!

Love Means Aloha
Its funny how little you may really know about a person until you start to ask the deeply personal questions. This was true for close friends Shannon and Loriann. I knew that they were avid surfers and that this connection was very special to them. I just didn't realize how foundational it was to their relationship.
I really enjoyed hearing the two of them retell their story and how they met each other. Their testimony was very inspirational and hilarious at times. I love how Loriann and Shannon truly care about each other and how it comes out when they talk about each other.
I hope you enjoy this Love Story film as much as I enjoyed producing it.
